SHOW WE RARELY TALK ABOUT MAKES CHANGE WE'LL HALFHEARTEDLY DISCUSS:  Lisa Edelstein has decided to quit House rather than take a pay cut.

  1. I've only watched intermittently the past few years because of the Chuck/HIMYM conflict, but while I think Edelstein is a wonderful actress, the show needs a shakeup, and the "let's put House and Cuddy in a relationship" plotline simply didn't work, despite the 'shippers screaming for it.  Forcing House to deal with a new administrator (the logical choices would be Wilson or Foreman if they're going to promote from within) is far more promising than yet another endless House-Cuddy flirtation or the unending saga of Thirteen (though the ending of the House-Thirteen road trip episode was interesting and opens up an interesting end to the series).

<span>"Tell your friend POTUS he's got a funny name, and he should learn how to ride a bicycle."
"I would, but he's not my friend; he's my boss. It's not his name, it's his title."
    "POTUS?"
"President of the United States. I'll call ya." </span>

I was going to say that I've liked her ever since she was the partner of Ross's ex-wife on Friends, but then I did some poking around and found out that Lisa Edelstein and Jessica Hecht are actually two different people.   Oops.  Anyway, House casting people: just sub in Jessica Hecht as a New Becky kind of thing.  At least one person in America will not notice.

  4. It always bothered me that a DC prostitute wouldn't know that.

Sadly (no wait, this isn't sad at all), my knowledge of Lisa Edelstein pretty much runs only to her as Mercy Graves in the DC Animated Universe. (Of course, WW, but Mercy was a much more important character overall.)

  6. "I know this girl; that's Roberta,  Oh holy cow..."
"Bobbie Berstein.  Nice to meet you."
"Bobbie, this looks nothing like you."
"Yeah. I turned into quite the babe, didn't I?"

Wilson makes a lot of sense, at least on an interim basis -- he's senior enough that he'd be viewed as a legitimate candidate and it would shake up the House/Wilson relationship in a potentially interesting way.

Still, this season has kinda stunk, and I'm not terribly optimistic next one will be better.

  8. Not a "New Becky" thing, a "New Darren" thing.  Please!

  9. I've enjoyed the dynamic between House and Cuddy's kid.  House, Cuddy, and Wilson are the only characters I really like on that show anymore (though I have been pleasantly surprised by new 13 in the last few episodes).  I wish Fox would give House a definite timeline for wrapping up at this point.
