THIS IS FANCY, MAN. THEY COOK THE FOOD RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. THEY MIGHT GO TO PATHMARK AND BUY IT, BUT THEY'RE GONNA COOK IT. FANCY:  NYMag goes to Benihana with Tracy Morgan.

P.S. re last week's 30 Rock: Are you wearing yellow and blue on Wednesday?

Nothing delighted me more about that 30 Rock than realizing that Leap Day Willams was basically a creature from a Lovecraft story (and given the Marianas Trench reference, I think that was pretty deliberate).

Not to nit-pick, but I think you're referring to Leap Day William.  Leap Dave Williams, "s" on the end, was the watered down Jim Carrey version.  But I think you're right -- the only joke that landed for me was the one at the end of the tag.

  3. In random facts I apparently missed, that 30 Rock was directed by Steve Buscemi.  No, I don't know why either.

I thought Alan said last week that he has directed a lot of TV.  Something to keep him busy during the BE hiatus, I guess.  And it might explain the high guest star content -- Carrey, McDowell, Kurkova. Not going to count the guy from Northern Exposure.

Buscemi is well-known as a director of THE SOPRANOS, where he directed the famous (or infamous, depending on what you thought of the disappearing Russian in the woods) episode "Pine Barrens" and a few others.  And since he's also appeared in a few 30 ROCK episodes, he's clearly a friend of the show.  As for the episode itself, I loved it, which I think puts me in the minority.

The prior week's "the Tuxedo Begins" was a great episode. But yes, I will be wearing blue and yellow on leap day. :)
