BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR: I am less enthusiastic than Our Friend Carrie was about Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick's Coraline. Yes, it's very well done, and the voice casting is immaculate, in particular the dual casting of Teri Hatcher. And credit for using 3-D extremely well--it's not used for cheap "whoa!" shots (at least for the most part--there are a couple), but simply to give depth to the film. My biggest problem is that the story--"girl doesn't feel loved by parents, so escapes into fantasy world, but there are consequences for doing so"--has been done so many times before, and there isn't enough of a spin on that standard story for my taste. Still, especially for parents with young kids, this is well worth your time.
