This amused me: "A man dressed up as Batman, who also refused to reveal his true identity, said the pseudo-Elmo is sullying the names of the other friendly Times Square characters."
It's seriously poor form for a busker to demand his tips -- especially when you consider that if you don't set a price, people may tip more than the five bucks. At my gig last night, someone dropped 40 bucks into my tip jar and held up a copy of my CD, as if to say, "Will that cover this?" Happens more than you'd think.
