POP POP IN PAWNEE: In something guaranteed to make all of us happy, NBC has now officially renewed all four of the shows that are legitimately part of Comedy Right Done Night, All Night, with Community and Parks & Rec leaving the bubble, and The Office getting an official renewal, joining the already-renewed 30 Rock. (This apparently includes a further contract with Rob Lowe, thus finally killing speculation he would be going over to CBS.) I expect the four to remain on Thursdays as a block, and would think that NBC might try and launch a young-skewing big drama out of it, and NBC's got no shortage of intriguing dramas in development for the fall. (Still on the bubble at NBC? Harry's Law, Parenthood, and Chuck.)

This totally made my night. Glad that NBC recognized the true quality shows they had on Thursday nights, and gave them a green light to keep on being "streets ahead"
ReplyDeleteOddly, despite its ratings, The Office has been the weakest of the 3 this season IMO. Hopefully the cast shake up will re-energize it and bring it creatively back in line with Community, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation.
While I could understand NBC's desire to launch a new drama out of the "Done Right" part of "Comedy Night Done Right) part of me wishes that they would plug Parenthood into the Thursdays at 10pm slot following those 4 comedies. Because then I could just sit down with a bottle of wine and bowl of popcorn, er, I mean a large group of affluent friends between the ages of 18 and 49, and just watch NBC all night without once having to change the channel.
