STRAY ROUNDS: One trivia question as we prepare to wrap up The Wire tomorrow: list every time that a Baltimore police officer has discharged his weapon during the course of the series' five seasons.
Are we counting Prez shooting his own squad car? Leaving those aside, he shoots a wall while demonstrating a weapon and later accidentally shoots a plain-clothes policeman.
Police officer or Prez? Just kidding, Prezbo. But off the top of my head, I think, like you guys, that's all I got. Shooting the wall, the shot in the Towers, and killing the officer. Compare this to the average CBS procedural where the cops/scientists/whatever shoot and kill someone every single week.

ReplyDeleteI was just going to say - I can't think of any time other than Prez.
ReplyDeleteI can only think of one for sure: Prez shooting the other police officer.
ReplyDeleteAnd one I'm unsure of: I think Kima may have shot her weapon during the shooting when she's in the back of the car and gets shot?
I believe that's it. Did Prez fire a warning shot at the Towers in that early episode?

ReplyDeleteOoh, that's a possibility. And would be a plausible reason for discharging a weapon.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Kima unable to reach the gun? Something about it being taped too far back or something?
ReplyDeleteGoing by Wiki, Randy seems to be right that she was shot before being able to reach her weapon.
