ANY TEAM I COACH, THEY'RE GOING TO PLAY HARD FOR ALL FOUR QUARTERS:  Jason Sudeikis, Tottenham coach, in a short film promoting NBC's upcoming EPL coverage.

That was wonderful. "Wales, is that a country?" "Yes and no." "How many countries are in this country?" "Four."

"My job just got a lot easier. No playoffs and ties. Why do we even play this?"

  3. That was just plain awesome. This soccer nerd loved it.

Freeze at 1:39. Sudekis was playing as Arsenal. He scored at least 6 own goals for Tottenham, five by Szczesny and one by Wolcott. That's attention to detail.

"Liverpool, used to be really great, but haven't won a title in really long time." Ouch.

Fabulous. And of course, no mention of my hapless Newcastle.

  5. Also, we can no longer get away with calling it the EPL since Swansea and Cardiff City are in. Barclay's Premier League. At least until Barclay's crashes in 2015. Then it will probably be the Bet365 Premier League or something.

  6. I hung out this weekend with a Newcastle fan who grew up in Newcastle. There were a lot of jokes about her efforts at doing anything being worthless (but especially at croquet.)

Well, delightful. Jason Sudeikis doing his best Coach Taylor accent.
