MARY ROSH AND BILL WASIK HAVE BEEN COMMITTED TO THE AGES: Among the new words added to the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary for 2009 are frenemy, sock puppet, flash mob, locavore, reggaeton, shawarma and vlog. Sniglet, however, still sits outside the dictionary's walls.
Related -- Dear National Association of Realtors, please stop subtly insisting in your commercials that I pronounce your occupation as "REE-uhl-tores". Isn't "REEL-tuhrz" sufficient? Do you have to grab for that third syllable?
