EVEN MORE SHAME-INDUCING THAN HOT TUB TIME MACHINE: Given that The Last Song is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, it's a pretty safe assumption that someone dies at the end--and Wikipedia saves you the sit-through (assuming they didn't change the ending). See also our previous Nicholas Sparks spoilage.

I could barely read the synopsis so I can only imagine the sheer hell it would be to try to read the book or--heaven forbid--see the movie.

I was talking to some of the ladies at work (who are quite a bit older than me, more than double my age) and they were shocked that as a female, I don't worship at the alter of Nicholas Sparks. They thought he was required reading for all ladies, and that all women love his books. Then they said something about my generation and went back to talking about American Idol.

Wow.  Is that summary for real?  Is there really a fire-juggling subplot?  I might have to see that movie.
