STILL WAITING FOR MANATYPUS:  After discussing the upcoming film Untitled 3D Shark Project (actually, that's the title for now), producer Roger Corman revealed that filming begin next month for his next made-for-SyFy movie .... Piranhaconda.

  3. 1) Is it too late to arrange the Sir Mixalot cameo?
    2) In a subgenre where the title comes before the script, how did Sharktopus get made before Piranhaconda?
    3) The Tiffany/Gibson catastrophe may still be unwatched on my DVR when it airs, but I bet I watch this one more or less live.

    1) I have a funny feeling he's available.
    2) don't look a gift hybrid in the mouth.
    3) you could watch the Tiffany/Gibson crapfest (non-Corman, notably) on 3xFFwd and not lose anything. But yeah, Piranhaconda ought to be experienced live and unbuffered

  5. Mega Python v Gatoroid also features Mrs. Landingham and a lot of incredibly available small aircraft. Don't knock it.<span> </span>

Isn't this the movie that Phil and Clare went to see on "Modern Family"? And all this time, I thought the writers were just being absurd ...

  7. No, that was Croctopus in 3D. Learn your hybrids!

NO-sign.  Mrs. Landingham's performance was as bad as Tiffany's and Gibson's, the FX were not even enjoyable on a cheesy level (viz., that last scene with Gibson), and the whole thing was just too arch, even for this genre.  I do give A Martinez some credit, for being the best thing in the movie as the amalgam of Chief Brody/Matt Hooper/Andrew Prine in Grizzly, but this was way more hype than delivery, even by SyFy Original Movie standards.  It's eminently missable.
