IF THEY HAD ONLY GIVEN US NORDSTROM, DAYENU: According to a nationwide survey by Public Policy Polling,
more Americans have a favorable view of Seattle than any other major U.S. city, followed by Portland, Boston, Atlanta, and Phoenix. The only three netting negative views: Detroit, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
People think favorably of Atlanta? Are they getting their via teleportation? Because I can't imagine surviving I-85/I-75 or Hartsfield-Jackson and still thinking fondly of the ATL.
ReplyDeleteThey must be coming in on I-20.
I think television and films are bigger factors there. Some interesting stuff in the crosstabs.
ReplyDeletePhoenix?
ReplyDeletePeople didn't have a negative view of Philadelphia? Clearly they didn't talk to enough people from Philly.
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly dying as I notice the their/there typo. Please don't hold it against Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteWho likes Phoenx?
ReplyDeleteBased on the top 6 does it seem that people like the idea of a big city, but prefer a slightly smaller version?
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how many people have actually been to these cities. Or shall we thank Law & Order, Grey's Anatomy, The Wire.....etc.
ReplyDeleteI heard a lot of people last night airing their negative views of what one man called "foul, fetid, fuming, foggy, filthy Philadelphia." And they kept complaining that it was hot as hell there.
ReplyDeleteI've only lived here for a year, but I must be fully integrated into this city, since the first thought that popped into my head upon seeing that people have a negative view of Los Angeles was "They're just jealous."
ReplyDeleteSomeone ought to open up a window.
