PLEASE PHRASE ALL RESPONSES IN THE FORM OF A QUESTION: Alex Trebek is now stating that
he's considering retiring in 2014, after 30 years at the helm of
Jeopardy! I'm not sure whether that will hold or whether that'll provide them with a convenient excuse to end the show (the average age of a
Jeopardy! viewer is apparently 65), but I assume we have suggestions for who should replace Trebek.
Isn't the obvious answer Will Ferrell?
ReplyDeleteShouldn't that be:
ReplyDeleteWho is Will Ferrell?
Darrell Hammond?
ReplyDeleteWell, mine was already in the form of a question.
ReplyDeleteGilbert Gottfried.
ReplyDeleteI thought Seacrest has a contract for every open new job.
ReplyDeleteBut for real - Ken Jennings.
ReplyDeleteAt the taping last week, he said he wasn't thinking about retiring any time soon.
ReplyDeleteThat said, eventually I'd definitely like to see Ken Jennings.
Who is Ken Jennings~ Anderson Cooper lol?
ReplyDeleteWho is Celebrity Sean Connery?
ReplyDeleteDudes, NPH!
ReplyDeleteVote for Matt? Time to give up the lawyering.
ReplyDeleteWho is Pat Kiernan?
ReplyDeleteNo, I mean that's my response. Kiernan has relevant experience, is Canadian, is low-key, and is young enough to take the franchise another 30 years.
Kiernan is allegedly on a fairly short list of finalists to replace Regis opposite Kelly Ripa, which might be a little better fit for him, since he is so phenomonal rolling with the punches of a live format and this gives him someone to play off of.
ReplyDeleteRelatedly, next month, Kiernan is hosting a 90s trivia night out in Brooklyn, which I'm contemplating going to, just because he's that awesome.
Who is anyone but Tom Bergeron?
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Pat Kiernan fan, but I didn't find him to be the best fit opposite Kelly Ripa. Maybe he just needs to grow into it, and no one will be perfect with just one or two guest spots, but his grinning smile seemed awkward, and he didn't seem to know how to put over a personal anecdote - Kelly had to save him by inserting laugh lines. His brand of wry humor just doesn't seem to fit the perky enthusiasm of the show.
ReplyDeletePat just moved into my neighborhood- he's two blocks away. I'm overly excited about this.
ReplyDelete@Matt - "out in Brooklyn"?
