    Carlton Gadjusek absolutely deserved the award for science-based reasons, but the fact that he was a child molester (and, if I recall correctly, a molester of children in some of the remote areas where he was performing research on the prion/CJD/spongiform encephalopathy connection) makes me want to run and take it away from him.
