DID I STUTTER? As suggested by a reader, my arbitrary and incomplete ranking of The Office's supporting characters in order of comedic slugging percentage, from top to bottom:
Mose
Stanley
Meredith
Creed
Darryl
Kevin (low OBP once they made him too dumb, but high SLG)
Toby may not rate well in comedic slugging percentage, but his plus-minus would be surprisingly high given how often he triggered hilarious reactions from Michael.
Creed may not have the advantage of running Parks and Rec during the later seasons, but there were many episodes where his one scene was the funniest part of the episode. He's like the pinch hitter who comes in for one AB a game with a high slugging percentage.

ReplyDeleteComedic plus-minus? You mean, like how Horatio Sanz had the lowest plus-minus in SNL history?
ReplyDeleteToby's a great pinch-hitter. I'd move him up a few slots for his ability to bat left-handed.
ReplyDeleteI do not love Stanley. I'd maybe put him at Vance levels +/-1.
ReplyDeleteCreed never misses, so I guess that's OBP in this analogy? His slugging ain't bad, either.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if that's BA or OBP -- what is a comedic "walk"? Being funny in reaction to others, or is that where +/- comes in?
