YOU AIN'T EATEN STEAK UNTIL YOU'VE EATEN IT UNDER A CHANDELIER! Looks like the versatile Fred Armisen is leaving SNL as well. Too much to ask for one last Prince, one last David Paterson? (Maybe Ferecito too.)
Added: Tara Ariano ranks Armisen's, Hader's, and Sudeikis' recurring characters by how much she'll miss them. [Unfortunate note: omits "Vance," Sudeikis' track-suit wearing dancer on What's Up With That?]
Sadly, what it means is one last "Californians." When Armisen hits, he hits big (the "pro-Thatcherpunk" sketch was SPECTACULAR), but somehow, he manages to get lots of terrible recurring characters on the air--Nicholas Fehn? Roger Brush? Manuel Ortiz?
ReplyDeleteMeh. I'm over Armisen. Hader, I'll miss. Armisen, good riddance (with the exception of the pro-Thatcher punk sketch, which was kind of a Portlandia offshoot).
ReplyDeleteThey had Californians last week. I think that's enough.
ReplyDeleteI also thought his QE2 with Martin Short was fantastic. Maybe the best skit of the season.
I had forgotten until this morning how funny I found the David Paterson stuff. Even though so much of it could have been classified as a cheap joke, it just had me in stitches every. single. time.
ReplyDeleteVance is my favourite thing about What's Up With That? I almost cry watching him.
ReplyDeleteVance.
