DON'T TAKE THIS OFFENSIVELY: Asians in libraries is so played out. Here are some other offensive stereotypes* you might want to use instead:
  • Swedes on escalators
  • Blind people at funerals
  • Nicaraguans in candy stores
  • Historians at the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Namibians in Zambia
  • French Guyanans in line for concert tickets
  • Neo-Calvinists in pottery classes
  • Youth in dungarees
*I'm not talking about my friends. I'm only talking about people I don't know.

Hordes of historians and they're all like graduate students and TAs and undergraduates doing their laundry and cooking their meals ...

  7. Is it wrong that this post reads to me in the breathy SNL Stefan voice?  "They've got everything there!"

Wrong?  No.  Right?  Yes.  Though different from what was intended.

Finn clued me in to what this post is referring to.  And bless her little racist heart, she should come to my school where all races/ethnicities talk on their cell phones in the library. It's a Rainbow of Rudeness.

To be fair, at my school they carry on animated phone conversations in bathroom stalls.

Well, thank goodness you have friends of these demographics, even if you're not talking about them.  That absolves you of all intolerant attitudes.

Don't get me started on Nicaraguans in Candy Stores. They stand around, touching all the candy, asking "how much is this?" over and over again, never actually buying anything.
Wait, is that Nicaraguans or 12-year-olds?

Or my alternate (feel free to steal it), the Melting Pot of Misbehavior.  And I hear conversations in bathroom stalls all the time.  Did I mention that my office building is about 75% lawyers offices?
