THERE WERE TWO OF THEM. I WAS OUTNUMBERED: A reminder that
tomorrow is catch-up day for Wire Wednesdays. Be prepared to discuss "Duck and Cover," "Stray Rounds," "Storm Warning," and just how grating Ziggy's accent gets when you're marathoning episodes.
Why watch the show when you can see the musical? http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/414fa4b226/the-wire-the-musical-with-michael-kenneth-williams
ReplyDeleteI just finished Season 1 last night - hope to be caught up with you guys by next week - Even if I had the free time to watch 10 hours of The Wire today and tomorrow I'm not sure it would be sanctioned as healthy by the Surgeon General.
ReplyDeleteYet another circumstance where we need a LURVE button.
ReplyDeleteGiven that I'm in love with Stringer Bell's reading glasses, I loved that they put some on the Stringer in the musical too.
ReplyDeleteThat Wire musical is amazing. I'm now halfway through season 3. I can't stop watching.
ReplyDeleteOpened this thread specifically to post the Wire musical link and wasn't surprised to discover y'all had beat me to it. Genius. I don't think it's possible for me to love Michael K. Williams any more than I already do.
ReplyDeleteThere's also an oral history of The Wire in Maxim (one of the odder grouping of words I've written today), which is pretty decent. There are SPOILERS for all 5 seasons throughout, though.
ReplyDeleteCan someone please tell me if it is safe to watch that if I'm only caught up with our current schedule?
ReplyDeleteMarsha, sorry to say, but I would not.
ReplyDeleteNo problem - I'd rather know in advance. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey, is someone keeping track of all this cool Wire stuff that we can't watch until we are done with the series? I would love for them all to be compiled in a post when we are one....
ReplyDeleteFor sure! I am down to only two episodes to watch and can't wait to go back and read all the interviews and watch the musical.
