That's that annoying buzzing horn from South Africa, right? *tap tap* Is this thing on?

  2. Timely! I was just told that if I want to stop snoring I can have my uvula shortened.

Isn't "your mouth" your mouth's punching bag?

  4. I will forever remember "uvula" because in King's Quest IV, the solution to one puzzle involved the command "tickle uvula." (You're trapped in the belly of a whale, and tickling the uvula gets it to puke you up.)

  5. "Uvula" was also the source of a great gag (no pun intended) in the movie Monster House. When the kids get inside the house, the smart girl comments that the entryway is like being inside its mouth. (Paraphrasing) "There's the teeth, and the tongue, and that must be the uvula." Dumb boy responds: "Oh, so it's a girl house."

I went to see the movie solely because that joke in the trailer made me laugh.

Semi-serious question - does ululation require an uvula?

  7. I just don‘t understand why all the noise is all about! My mouth is a punching bag? Makes me feel less a talkative!

Matt, I already knew we were kindred spirits, but your invocation of the KQ series just put you in my friend Hall of Fame.

  9. How much you want to bet that that joke was written by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab, who did the first draft of the script?

Well, it was actually FUNNY, so I doubt it came from Dan Harmon.

"It'll behoove ya to care for your uvula." First time I ever heard the word was this SNL skit.
