I'M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE GAME, DRINK PEPSI, WEAR REEBOK: We haven't run a good Shaquille O'Neal quote in a while, but the ALOTT5MA Fave was due:
GQ: You rapped for a second. You got into films for a second. Everyone remembers Kazaam. When was the last time you watched it?
Shaq: The other day.
GQ: Did it hold up to you?
Shaq: I was a medium-level juvenile delinquent from Newark who always dreamed about doing a movie. Someone said, "Hey, here's $7 million, come in and do this genie movie." What am I going to say, no? So I did it.

Someone linked to his The Daily Show interview the other day; man, that guy has charisma.  I pretty much love him unabashedly, though my strong hatred of the Lakers should indicate the opposite.

  2. That's awesome, and shows a level of self-awareness that I don't recall being evident in reported statements by Mr. O'Neal as a younger man.

Sums up the genius that is Shaq. Good for him.

I was also rather fond of the Daily Show segment, especially the part where Jon Stewart asked Shaq when Jon had to tell his son that he was Jewish and therefore would never be a professional basketball player, and Shaq said, "when you get home, tell him Uncle Shaq says 'baruch hashem.'"
