One of my favorite misheard lyrics: back in university, the soundtrack for "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" was in heavy rotation at our house. (Three gays and a girl living together; she was easily out-voted.) We became intimately familiar with "I've Never Been To Me", yet that didn't stop our female roommate from hearing the line "You're a discontented mother, and a regimented wife" as "You're a discontented mother, and a rich, demented wife." And we laughed and laughed.

ReplyDeleteI stopped about halfway through, because too many of these felt too forced. "Obama self," my butt. Who misheard that?
ReplyDeleteExcept for "Hold me closer, Tony Danza," I liked this better when Wayne and Garth did it on SNL. There's a bathroom on the right, indeed.
