BRAVEHEART WAS ROBBED**: A survey at Britain's National Army Museum has named George Washington as the greatest enemy commander ever to face the British, besting such finalists as Michael Collins, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and Erwin Rommel.
** Okay, survey was for 17th century to the present only. I didn't have a better title.
I'm kind of surprised it wasn't closer for Collins. He didn't have the advantage of being 130 years earlier and a 30000-miles supply chain like Washington did. On the other hand, Collins wasn't exactly fighting a full-scale war.

ReplyDeleteReally don't want to start something here, but did William of Orange not make the list because James rolled over for him?
ReplyDeleteThis link tried to stick me with a minute-twenty ad for Google. 1:20! The odds that I will invent Google are greater than the odds that I will watch a 1:20-long Google ad.
ReplyDeleteUm, I meant Ganhdi.
