COMING WITH ALL DELIBERATE SPEED TO A THEATER NEAR YOU: Gary Ross is one of those directors I wish would work more--Pleasantville was a darn fine film, and Seabiscuit wasn't half bad--to have also written Big and Dave means I'll give pretty much anything he's directing a chance--and certainly his just-announced Crusaders, in which he'll (again) direct Tobey Maguire in a film about Brown v. Board of Education written by Danny Strong (Emmy nominated for writing Recount) has basically pre-sold me a ticket. Sure, not as exciting as Lauren Graham in a movie about patent law (coming this October!), but it'll do.
