AND YOU KNOW THERE'S NOTHING AS DELICIOUS AS KNISHES: In the growing genre of Rap Tributes To Boring Suburbs, Billy Eichner and Rachel Dratch presents a paean to Forest Hills, Queens.

[Same genre, but not as good: the Fairfax Rap response to the Arlington video.]

  1. All of the Rachel Dratch stuff was filmed in Long Island City.  Maybe Rachel won't go to FH.

I wanted to find that video funnier than it was but they were just trying too hard

On the other hand that video about Arlington was HYSTERICAL- the related thing funnier I can think of is the Murray Hill Song, which without fail cracks me up every time

I like the line in the headline, and I like Murphy Brown. That's about it.

The Forest Hills song made me laugh because I'm married to a Queens boy AND his mother is shaped like a pear. What are the chances??

The Murray Hill song also hit too close to home, as it was clearly written by a fellow Syracuse alum. Honestly, he pegged that neighborhood and all its post-grad inhabitants. And he clearly knows NY women and their awful lowfat/no fat frozen dessert dysfunctions. The Jewish geography part was also spot on, with his teen tour, day camp and sleepaway camp references. If he wasn't actually from Jericho, LI, then he certainly did his research.

    Good laughs all around.
