HE DECIDEDLY DOES NOT SMELL LIKE TEEN SPIRIT: In helping my father set up his new apartment, I saw something which I didn't know still existed, let alone was still used: a large can of aerosol deodorant. Does anyone under the age of 40 still use this stuff? Under 50?

  1. Traditional aerosol deodorant?  No.  But Axe and similar body sprays are fairly common among a certain set (not myself).

  2. Actually, it's a military trick- spray the bottom of your feet with the aerosol deodorant to prevent blisters.  Great with new shoes and sandals!

  3. Actually, we have a friend who stays with us regularly who apparently uses the stuff. I have no clue why.

  4. On a related note, I learned this weekend that my 35-year-old brother-in-law uses Aqua Velva.

    I use aerosol Secret.  It's my non-environmentally-friendly guilty pleasure.  I'm 33.

  6. I had a roommate a couple of years ago (age at the time: 28) who was allergic to something that's in almost all non-aerosol deodorant.  Or so I was told.  I don't remember what it was.

I do! I find it lasts longer than the other stuff. And I'm 35. ;)

    Rollons are slimy and revolting.

I agree, roll-ons are disgusting, but I got tired of my wife acting like she was being gassed every time I used an aerosol so I switched to a stick - I'm 53

In seventh grade my roll-on deoderant was the subject of much locker room mockery. I'm 22, I know no one who uses aerosol, but the mean girls in junior high gym sure did.

Rebecca, you've just given me flashbacks to junior high and high school gym class.  I guess  my attempts to erase that part of my memory didn't really work.

I keep a can on hand, not for me, but in case friends (of any age) stay overnight.  My friends aren't very good planners, and often forget to pack stuff, so having extra toothbrushes, spray deodorant, etc comes in handy.

When I was a kid, that stuff could kill roaches.
