I DON'T MEAN TO BUG YA: Jim DeRogatis, on the worst rock movies of all time. On Scorsese's The Last Waltz: "I’m from the punk era. I believe what’s great about rock ’n’ roll is community and the tearing down of boundaries. And the basic thrust of The Last Waltz is that these are superheroes so much better than you. Plus, it’s boring. It’s fun looking for the scenes where you can see the cocaine on Neil Young’s nose, but these guys are insufferable, and Robbie Robertson is the king of that."

Once again proven that when DeRo has an opinion, I can turn to Greg Kot for for reasoned analysis. (Kudos to the interviewer for letting DeRo weave his own noose by comparing Rattle & Hum to torture porn in his opinion.)

Yeah, but . . . all of those movies do, in fact, suck.

  4. I personally love "Rattle and Hum."  I only saw it for the first time a few years ago, and I wasn't aware of the negative opinions on it.

I'd agree on The Doors.  But Heavy Metal Parking Lot, condescending?  You might as well say Darkon was condescending to LARPers.

I LOVE Rattle and Hum. Saw it in theaters, had it on VHS, and just bought the Blu-Ray. Never understood the flak the film got.

  7. I was in the heavy metal demo in the early-mid 1980s and spent my share of time in heavy metal parking lots, on heavy metal metro buses, and doing heavy metal milling about on downtown streets outside smaller venues. unlike, i suspect, dero. heavy metal parking lot is awesome, riveting. and available on youtube, i believe.
