    Or you could just use spaceboy 2.0's patented method, the "Wait to see what your opponent throws before you throw."

    I disagree with their suggestion for #4.
    If the opponent has thrown rock twice in a row, he's probably going to throw scissors or paper, that part I agree with. However, if that is the case, throwing rock yourself results in either a win or a loss. Why not counter with scissors, which results in either a win or draw?

    Now, having said that, the last time I played RPS, I lost 3-2, to an opponent who threw paper five straight times. So much for trying not to be predictable.

  5. This is absolutely correct.  If you know your opponent is not going to throw rock, then the safest thing to throw is scissors.
