Thank you.  Your forcing me to call up my memories of that day make me happy every time.  I was young and indestructible, I was with a beautiful woman and two of my best friends and life was full of possibilities and we believed that music could change the world.  Thank you Adam.  Thank you God.

  5. I was very amused by the quick cartoon break-in around minute 8 of the U2 video.

"Vegetarian salads, they had no meat. There were leftovers, as well."

Always been a bit of a bitterrsweet day for me since it's the day my grandmother had a triple bypass, as well. And the day I found a nice watch at the bottom of a lake.

Random thought: Has anyone managed to repeat Phil's transcontinental performance? (Though if I remember correctly, a Concorde was involved, so that might not be possible today.)

So you're saying that a repeat performance is not in the air tonight?  That a repeat would be against all odds?  [/repeating jokes from Collins retirement]

  8. Just saw this after a long, grueling day at work. What a great pick-me-up! I was driving from Chicago to Springfield for a Lincoln-themed weekend and was really pissed that the only way to hear the entire thing was from one staticky downstate radio station to another. I don't think I've ever really forgiven my parents for that. I do remember hijacking the hotel room TV from my parents to watch the big finale show, but i didn't see the full U2 performance until after that.
