GABRIELLE CARTERIS DISAPPROVES:  But Ryan Murphy insists that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will graduate from Glee and leave the show at the end of this season. Explains Murphy, "You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

  1. Yes.  Because if there's one thing I look for on a show based entirely on people breaking into unrehearsed but fully realized song and dance routines five or six times an hour, it's realism.

Yes because by bringing in an actual writing team, establishing some sense of continuity and internal universe logic means that I might be able to continue watching.

  3. But Chris Colfer's storyline has pretty much been the only one worth watching. I guess this also means Darren Criss will be leaving after next season and the same for the guy who plays Kurt's dad. Lame.

Maybe they're headed for a spin-off? Rachel and Kurt take Manhattan?

  4. Anyone watching "The Glee Project"?

  5. I am. I've liked it more than I expected. I'm wondering if the winner ends up being one of the classically attractive contestants or one of the more ones that represent people you don't normally see on TV.

  6. I wonder if we see a spinoff with Kurt and Rachel in New York, if one of those two ends up being a teaching assistant at McKinley or if the show will follow their attempts to become a star as a goodbye/side plot (kinda like what Friday Night Lights did with its original players).

It's a pretty risky move because the show is so much about the students. FNL could get away with this because so many of its fans followed the show because of the setting and the Taylors. I really don't think that many people are watching Glee because of Matthew Morrison or Jane Lynch (who became so cartoonish in Season 2), though I could be wrong. And I wasn't particularly enamored with any of the new characters they introduced to New Directions in the second season. Will they be able to do this as seamlessly as FNL, or will it be the disaster that The White Shadow became when it graduated most of its original cast?

  7. Of course, this fails to address other timeline issues:

    1.  Quinn was apparently queen bee of the entire school as a Sophomore?  (Also, not sure how the timeline with her transfer works, since she'd clearly been at McKinley for at least a year at the start of the series.)  Agron's been pretty clear that she wants out, so it's interesting that she's not mentioned in there.
    2.  So are we to assume that Mercedes, Tina, Mike, Artie, etc. are now rising Juniors, or are they Seniors?

  8. I am not really the biggest fan of Glee but am a fan of reality competition shows and this one is quite interesting.  It may even get me to watch Glee next season to see how the winner does.  I think the little guy is going to win.

I kinda think that as well, though he has seemed to end up in the bottom three a lot lately.
