WHO AM I (WHAT'S MY NAME)? Although any celebrity name change is probably worthy grist for the mill around here, I was a little hesitant to jump on Snoop Dogg's
decision to change his name to Snoop Lion since it was part of his being Born Again. We try to avoid the political, as you know, but I think that encompasses the theological, too.
That said, when I read that he was Born Again as the spirit of
Bob Marley and means to release a Reggae CD, I figured we were in the clear.
I'm sorry, but I am just going to quote a joke from Metafilter earlier.
ReplyDeleteToo late. I already upgraded to Snoop Mountain Lion last week.
Chad Ochocinco has legally returned to Chad Johnson. No word on the spiritual nature of that decision, or what musical style it portends.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it is some sort of flaw in my matrix that it's never occured to me to change my actually-awful last name? It seems like everyone else is making changes willy-nilly! Though, I guess, if you're already going by Snoop Dogg, what's the big deal about swapping out one animal for another?
