I will bravely step forward and admit that I want to try these. I haven't tried any of the other Oreo special flavors (birthday cake?) but I am intrigued ... If I can find them, I'll probably pick up a package and take them to work - I can try 1-2, and share the fun.
I tried white chocolate candy corn M&Ms this year, and while I didn't really get the candy corn part beyond the outer shell color schemes, I did find them delicious as white chocolate M&Ms.
I HAVE EATEN THEM. Spotted at the checkout stand at my Target today. Verdict? They're alright. They mostly taste like very sweet vanilla creme cookies. Yummy, but not amazing (I won't eat the whole bag. At least, not all at once).
Russ...that made me laugh. My husband always says it's a good thing he didn't know about Nutella in college--he's sure he would have gone through a tub a day.
I like candy corn (actually, LOVE candy corn), but we've convinced our kids that Oreos are evil, so we'll take a pass. If you think I may be one of those parents who bans sweets, you'd be very wrong. But my husband takes offense to "blattantly" artificial and unhealthy foods. We have no problems with unhealthy foods that take a subtle approach (hello Nutella).
Brought the package to work this morning and the reaction was very similar to this group. Some disgust, some MEH, no raves. All were gone in less than an hour (maybe they go with coffee?).
Those first couple of bites of candy corn in the fall are awesome, and then goes from delicious to disgusting quicker than any other food. I would love to have a candy corn Oreo or two, but no more.
Oops. Never mind. Commented first, read the link second. Vanilla Oreo cookies? Abomination. I would try the candy corn flavored filling in standard Oreo cookies.
No.
ReplyDeleteCandy corn is disgusting; ergo, these are disgusting. QED.
ReplyDeleteThe correct answer is all of the above, in no particular order.
ReplyDeleteI'll take "Grossest Ideas Ever" for $2000, Alex."
ReplyDeleteOh dear goddess, no. That's wrong on so many levels.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Candy Corn by itself is delicious. It's just this idea that is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteBarf.

ReplyDeleteJust. Wrong.
ReplyDeleteSince I tried Candy Corn M&Ms last year, I would probably try these if I see them.

ReplyDeleteHow about some Nutella Oreos? And, while where at it, why not Nutella everything?
ReplyDeleteThe birthday cake oreos were amazing, both in regular and in the fudge covered half-cookie format.

I had a very nice warm soft pretzel with Nutella dip at a beergarden in Brooklyn last night.
ReplyDeleteI had the birthday cake oreos. And then I developed diabetes right there, on the spot.
ReplyDeleteSame here. It was meh; I'm not a fan of vanilla cookies with creme filling in general.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best parts of my Paris vacation: Crepes with Nutella and bananas. Yummmm.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how limited this 'Limited Edition' is, but it's not limited enough.

Wait, so candy corn Oreos are real, but the rainbow-colored Oreos (for gay pride) aren't? Boo.
