JACKIE JORMP-JOMP:  On the long-delayed musical biopic front: Amy Adams is now attached to star in a Janis Joplin biopic, with Lee Daniels angling to over-direct; Brian May announced the Queen biopic starring Sacha Baron Cohen will start filming next year, to be released in 2014. (We first discussed that project in 2010.)

    I find myself oddly apathetic about a Janis Joplin biopic, even with Amy Adams.

    I'm very excited about the Queen movie. I'm assuming with Brian May on board there should be no problem using the original music?

    I cannot even imagine Amy Adams as Janis Joplin. Either she is grossly miscast or she should win an Oscar for making "Amy Adams as Janis Joplin" believable. Or maybe, I don't know, Michael Fassbinder as Jerry Garcia? Armie Hammer as Jimi Hendrix.
