SKY HOOK: In one of those weird confluences of our interests, we have to note that
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is now writing about TV for Esquire, and while it's unsurprising he talks about
NCIS and
The Following, the fairly lengthy tribute to
Switched At Birth and
Bunheads is a bit more surprising.
What an interesting, thoughtful and thought-provoking article. I spend so much time being angry about how women are portrayed on TV (bitchy, bossy, helpless) that I kind of forgot about the men. And I never would have guessed that the other person watching "Bunheads" with me was Kareem. I wonder if he wishes we just had "Gilmore Girls" back, too.

I'm sorry, son, but you must have me confused with someone else. My name is Roger Murdock. I'm the co-pilot.
ReplyDeleteWhy shouldn't he talk about the PEABODY AWARD WINNING "Switched at Birth"? (I'm not on the ABC Family publicity payroll, but sometimes I feel like I should be.)
