THAT'S CLARENCE OVEUR. OVER. Actor Peter Graves -- star of tv's Mission Impossible, host of AMC's Biography series and co-star of the Airplane movies -- has died at the age of 83.
Aw, man. I liked him. But I've seen his ads for reverse mortgages on the cable news channels recently and have been struck by how frail he appeared. My condolences to his family.
Way to give away Stalag 17, Times. I know it's been out for 50 plus years, but still. It's a great movie and a lot of your readers probably haven't seen it.
Thanks, Jordan, for mentioning that unfortunate spoiler. I went to school for a year with Graves' eldest daughter, Kelly, and met him a few times. What a great and concerned Dad he was, an ocean of humor and universe of patience.

ReplyDeleteJordan and Carrie, you want a spoiler tag for an obituary?
ReplyDeleteI had no idea his brother was James Arness.
