I DON'T THINK THAT NAME MEANS WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS: Longstanding Canadian magazine The Beaver is changing its name to Canada's History, largely due to blocks that now happen when "The Beaver" sends e-mails or people attempt to access their website.

  1. Wow--sure took them a while.  Beaver College changed its name for that reason almost a decade ago now.

Of course, according to the website of Arcadia University f/k/a Beaver College, their name change was all about branding and institutional identity.  Riiiiiiiight....

My high school mascot was, and is, the Beavers.  We are the Beavers, the mighty, mighty Beavers ...

    Eager beavers build pride!

On an unrelated note, did you stop having the ALOTT5MA twitter announce new blog posts? I don't recall seeing tweets about the last few entries...

I like it, because I am on twitter far too much and thus know exactly when there's a new post. But now that the blog can also update in my google RSS stream (for a while it wouldn't) I'm happy either way.

  9. I guess I'm more surprised there wasn't already a magazine called "Canada's History."
