HERE I REST WHERE DISAPPOINTMENT AND REGRET COLLIDE (BECAUSE OAKLAND WON): One of the weirdest pairs of cover songs you'll see: Death Cab doing straightforward versions of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Centerfield" at the Seattle Mariners' home opener, wearing customized #10 jerseys. Why not kick off the pair with six minutes of a bass-and-drum groove? Why not wear Felix, Cliff Lee, Ichiro!, and Death to Flying Things jerseys? Such a lost opportunity.

How's Milton working out? We really miss him. Carlos Silva pitched six innings with 1 ER, 3 HA, 3 Ks, no BB, no flipped-off fans, and no arguments with umpires in his first start. If he never gets another guy out again we've already won the trade.

Hey, it's one week into the season.  Bradley is 1 for 22 with a HR; would be 2 for 22 with 2 HRs but for Rajai Davis robbing him over the top of the wall in Oakland.  1 or 2 for 22 is abysmal, but it's not even the worst on the team.  For me, we won the trade when Silva told the papers that he liked Chicago better because nobody was ragging on him for his conditioning -- he came in, what, 40 pounds heavier than last year?  And he is a bad, bad pitcher.  You'll see.

Yep, three run homer in the eighth to win it.
